Currently May

Wow! Time has just flown by! I bet some of you have been wondering where i’ve been and so I thought what better way to ease back into the online world, than to link up with the lovely Farley for her final “Currently” post.

Tomorrow I have yet another doctor’s appointment (i’ve seriously felt like a human pin cushion lately) so i’m currently writing my substitute lesson plans and listening to one of my favourite bands – Walk off the Earth. Yes, they are Canadian and they are awesome! Walk off the Earth produces both amazing covers on Youtube and have also produced their own music. I also love acoustic versions of songs when i’m trying to work, so there’s a mix of other Youtubers in my playlist too.

For those of you who have been wondering where i’ve been, pregnancy has kind of taken the wind out of my sails. The first trimester was extremely exhausting and I was on preventative leave for almost 7 weeks. This meant I was still doing all of the planning and marking for work, but was not able to step foot in the school until I knew I was immune to a number of diseases. This is where my “truth” comes into play because truth be told, I have been MIA because i’ve been exhausted! Please forgive me – i’m starting to get my energy back now (thankfully) so I promise I not abandon ship for that long again 🙂

Although i’m back in the classroom, and i’ve loved being back with my kids, the stress of exams have also taken their toll. We start a 5-6 week period of government mandated exams next week so right now it’s honestly cram mode.  I’ve only been back for 3 weeks so I definitely wish I had more time to prep my students 🙁

In regards the pregnancy, my biggest cravings to date have been peanut butter, strawberries, ice cream and anything sweet. My usual savoury tooth now gags at the thought of anything too salty… which is a bit sad and very weird for me lol. I started taking belly pics last week at 16 weeks and will start sharing them on Instagram. I’m hesitant to share a lot of pregnancy stuff on my blog because most people come here for teaching or ed-tech related stuff. What do you think? Is it ok to blur those lines on a blog like this?

  1. I can only imagine how exhausting your pregnancy is! I’m glad you are finally back in your classroom! I can’t stand to be out! I think it’s completely fine to post pregnancy stuff. It’s nice to get to know bloggers more personally.

  2. I do not have kids yet, so I truly can’t imagine being pregnant + teach! MAJOR props to you. As for the cravings.. my mom says that when she was pregnant with me it took everything in her not to guzzle gasoline at the gas station. WHAT? So, I’m happy to hear you have some normal cravings! Yes, please post your pictures! I think people like to feel connected. I need to start doing some personal pictures too. 🙂

  3. I hope you have been feeling better! We miss you! I can’t even imagine how hard it must be to be out of the room for that long – I freak over having to take a day! I can’t wait to check out your belly pics – you are the cutest! 🙂

  4. Hi Ashley!
Love your blog design! It’s so cute! I understand the love of peanut butter. I’m not pregnant, but could eat peanut butter pretty much all of the time. One of my favorites – peanut butter M&Ms.

Good luck with your sub plans!
